Plant Biology

This class is designed for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students with an  interest in plants. Students will study the identification, growing, managing and sale of plants.  Plant growth and development, soils and growing media, plant propagation and the use of  growth regulators and chemicals, will be taught in a hands-on manner. We will utilize our classroom and greenhouse extensively to demonstrate scientific principles of plants.  Students will have an opportunity to raise plants for sale in the FFA plant sale and to take  home in the greenhouse. This class may be taken to satisfy the lab science requirement for high school graduation. This course does offer the opportunity to obtain college credit through Wenatchee Valley College Tech Prep Articulation Agreement. A nominal fee may apply (student responsibility) and the student must be enrolled for one year (3 trimesters) and earn a  B grade or higher to qualify. This course will follow the Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education Plant Science (CASE).
